The scientific researchers and medical doctors of LUCID provide education in medical microbiology and infectious diseases offered to LUMC Medicine students.

Internships and placements

Furthermore, support is provided for the preparatory weeks for clinical rotations in the Master’s Medicine program. In addition, for the 3rd year of this program, there is the possibility of a research internship and a semi-medical internship, optionally in the form of a dedicated transition year, focused on specialist training in Medical Microbiology. Physicians from the LUCID department are involved in supervising bachelor’s and master’s students as teacher-coaches, thesis supervisors, and mentors.
